Bill Hecht may not be a household name, but your home theater wouldn't be complete without him. Hecht, who passed away on September 12th, is the man responsible for the creation of the soft dome tweeter in 1967. Since then, the soft dome tweeter has become the most often used type in the industry.

The big day is finally here! Apple has revealed their new goods, starting with the iPhone 5. The most striking difference in design between the iPhone 5 and previous iterations is that it finally has a 16:9 aspect ratio. Resolution isn't HD, but at 1136 x 640 it's not too terribly far off. Considering the size of the phone, that might not matter too terribly much.
The folks at Dolby have been busy creating new audio technologies, but also in making sure that we get to hear them. Atmos is the latest of these and it's designed to create a more immersive experience in theaters, giving you a more immersive 3D sound experience. You'll be able to catch Atmos in select theaters with the release of 'Taken 2' and 'Chasing Mavericks.' Dolby will release a full list of theaters as we come closer to the films' release dates.
The wait is almost over for those that are dying to see rest of the prequel trilogy in 3D. ‘Attack of the Clones’ and ‘Revenge of the Sith’ will be released September 20th and October 11th of 2013. This is particularly cool because it shows an acceleration of the 3D releases, which were originally supposed to be one a year.
