Westinghouse isn't a name we're used to thinking about when it comes to expensive, high quality sets, but that's exactly what the company is planning to bring to customers. Their new UHDTV strays from the Walmart sets we're used to seeing from them and goes into the high-end range.  The ultra high-end range in fact, with a cost of $300,000.

Samsung's new 85 inch UHDTV is something that we knew about, but what came as a surprise is the way it looks.  The set comes with a unique stand that you'll either absolutely love or absolutely hate. Instead of using a TV stand or a wall mount, you can set the Samsung S9 up on this metal stand, designed to show off the TV artistically.

There are two big television breakthroughs being brought to the mainstream market this year – OLED and Ultra High Definition. The former has huge advantages in color and black levels while the latter kicks the resolution up significantly.  Early adopters have had a bit of a quandary up until now, since the two were mutually exclusive.  Sony is planning to change that.

While others shift their focus to ridiculously large 4K sets, Panasonic is sticking with the stuff that got them where they are.  The company is set to release plasmas and LCDs, all sitting at 65 inches and below.  While last year that wouldn't have been much of a surprise, that sets them apart at this year's CES.
