Monster has inked a naming rights agreement with the San Francisco 49ers, which had renamed the historic Candlestick Park to Monster Park. Monster is a San Francisco-based company founded by native San Franciscan Noel Lee, and was selected over four other pre-approved companies, which included Oracle, Virgin, Macromedia, and Wells Fargo Bank.

The buzz in Hollywood this summer is who will be the next James Bond? Pierce Brosnan has reportedly announced that he’s dropping out of the role, partly because of dissatisfaction with the last couple of 007 outings. And who could blame him? Eon Productions, the company that owns the rights, has shown very little inclination since Brosnan’s first two Bond movies to re-imagine the British secret agent for contemporary audiences.

Fans weren’t able to rescue “My So-called Life” or “Party of Five” from the television chopping block, but they seem to have succeeded in reviving the cult animation hit “Family Guy” almost two years after the last original episode ran. 20th Century Fox has committed to at least 22 new episodes of the show according to Cartoon Network. The new episodes will begin in 2005 and may run on “Adult Swim”, Cartoon network’s late night programming for adults. Another option for the show would be to return to the Fox line-up. There has been no official announcement concerning what channel the show will air on. The choice to create more episodes shouldn’t have been a hard one. Sony corporation is planning to reveal a new gaming device called the “PSX” or “Play Station X.” It will first be released in Japan some time this year. PSX will come with a TV tuner, hard disk drive, and DVD recorder which create a universal product for games, music and movies. Sony reportedly commented that the PSX will mark the beginning of a new series of products that will unite and combine new technology and formats associated with the game sector.

Neil Terk, 55, chairman of Terk Technologies, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in New York, after a battle with lung cancer. Neil Terk founded Terk Technologies and served as its president since its inception in 1985. Neil applied his background in industrial design and engineering to spend the last 18 years creating TERK’s product line. “We are deeply saddened at the passing of Neil Terk. He was a true entrepreneur who had the confidence to invest his personal resources to start this company and build it into a successful operation focused on the research, design and engineering of innovative products,” stated TERK’s CEO Steve Roth. “The loss of Neil will be felt by everyone who knew him and whose lives he touched.”
