Myryad Systems Limited will be launching the all-new Cameo Theatre, an all-in-one unit that delivers the benefits of specialty hi-fi and video to the audience. The Cameo Theatre consists of a digital DVD processor, a 6 x 60 Watt amplifier, RDS FM/AM tuner, CD-player and DVD Player in a slim case. A matching 5 x 200 watt Cameo Power Amplifier also becomes available to enable significant power upgrade where preferred.

Panasonic Automotive Systems Company of America announced that Panasonic branded DVD entertainment systems will be available as optional, factory-installed equipment in twenty 2004 GM models; up from 14 models last year. The Panasonic systems, including a new sunroof-compatible model, were chosen by GM for their performance, flexible design, innovative features and ease of operation. Panasonic DVD passenger entertainment systems were introduced in GM's 2003 model-year full-size SUVs, full-size pickups, and crossover vehicles. This year, for the company's 2004 model-year vehicles, the Panasonic system option has been expanded to mid-size SUVs, as well as the all-new Cadillac SRX.

Queen fans have something to celebrate June 17th with the release of Queen’s legendary show “Live At Wembley Stadium” DVD. The footage was shot at the English arena in 1986, five years before the death of Freddy Mercury. The DVD includes the footage from the show as well as interviews with Brian May and Roger Taylor, a documentary on the band and a picture gallery. The DVD will be available in stores June 17th.

Warner Music Vision announced the June 23, 2003 release of six DVDs from legends within the blues, jazz and rock genres. Psychedelic High/Hard Rockin'/Guitar Gods Warner Music Vision's special triple DVD set Rock Icons, tops the release line up for June. Featuring Foreigner and Eric Burdon & The Animals. 'Feels Like The First Time - The Foreigner Story' provides a genuine insight into the band, which flew the international banner for adult-orientated rock through out the 70's and 80's. Famous for producing memorable rockers such as Cold As Ice and Hot Blooded, plus the hit ballads I Want To Know What love is and Waiting For A Girl Like You, Foreigner defined an era and created a musical legacy.

Disney Home Video announced that they will be offering a new style of self destructing DVD discs as a new rental option coming this summer. The concept behind the disc is that after 48 hours the disc undergoes a chemical reaction making it unreadable by a DVD player. Disney says that the disc, with its GE invented technology, will allow them to rent discs from new venues without having to worry about them being returned. The studio also boasts that after the time that the disc has expired it is impossible to steal. Critics point at environmental concerns. In a world where recycling is only starting to become a mainstream practice, throw-away renal DVDs seem wasteful. In terms of copy protection, the discs are hackable during their first 48 hours which only entices people with easily available DVD copying software to break these new discs with the added thrill of beating the clock.
