Runco International has upgraded a number of its renowned Digital Light Processing (DLP) projectors to include Runco’s new CineWide technology. This feature allows Runco projectors to utilize the full capability of their DMD chips, displaying movies formatted in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with increased resolution and brightness.

Runco International has just introduced the new the Video Xtreme VX-2c Projection System. This high definition imaging technology is the first to deliver a native 16:9, 3-chip entertainment experience to a variety of home theater environments. The VX-2c comes packaged with the Next Generation ViVix II DHD Digital Controller and is now shipping world wide.

Texas Instruments (TI) announced a new DLP SXGA+ chip, providing customers 1400 x 1050 resolution, the highest single-chip resolution available for the projector market today. Offering high brightness and contrast ratios, DLP SXGA+ technology is optimized for the growing high-resolution requirements of business, medical and military markets, as well as fixed installations and large conference room settings. TI says the inherent advantage of the single-chip DLP architecture assures no misalignment over time, ensuring consistent, sharp images.

InFocus is launching the InFocus ScreenPlay4805, its newest projector for consumers looking to bring the movie theater experience into their homes. It offers crisp, bright, high-contrast image sizes up to nine-feet wide for less than $1,500. The InFocus ScreenPlay 4805 connects into many home-electronics devices including: DVD players, satellite receivers, high-definition broadcast receivers, TVs, computers and video game consoles, to project everything from sports to movies and event television. Game enthusiasts can use the InFocus ScreenPlay 4805 with their video game systems to project super-sized characters. InFocus’ ScreenPlay 4805 also has a backlit remote control and a smart menu system make it be able to operate even in a dark room.

Runco International has just announced a host of new innovations now featured in many of its current products, including the CL-710/710LT, VX-1000ci, VX-4000ci and VX-5000ci. Runco’s Enhanced Gen 3 technology results in greater contrast, lower black levels and improvements to color purity. These advances are in addition to the performance refinements achieved with the advent of Gen 3 technology in 2003. These new Enhanced Gen 3 improvements are implemented through our new SuperOnyx, 16:9 Advanced Light Engine, incorporating TI’s latest DMD chip technology with Dark Metal Process, 12 degree mirror tilt and redesigned hinge components. Complimenting the SuperOnyx chip refinements is an elevated chroma reproduction system for outstanding colorimetry and greater color purity. In addition, the new Enhanced Gen 3 products include the Imaging Science Foundation’s “ISF 3c” (Certified Calibration Configuration) setup and calibration standards.
