Runco has announced a partnership with the NextGen Home 2005 Project, and in turn three Runco products are featured in four NextGen homes. The VX-2c Projection System, the CW-42HD flat screen plasma monitor, and the CW-50mc widescreen display monitor will be showcased in the four separate NextGen homes, which will tour the United States throughout 2005. The first one makes its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show in January; the second one at the International Builders Show a week later; then the third one at the National Association of Broadcasters Show in April, and finally the last one at the Kitchen & Bath Show in May. Each NextGen Home will feature a slight different variation on the theme of showcasing the most advanced, cutting edge technology in home building and home entertainment installations.

Runco International has upgraded a number of its renowned Digital Light Processing (DLP) projectors to include Runco’s new CineWide technology. This feature allows Runco projectors to utilize the full capability of their DMD chips, displaying movies formatted in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with increased resolution and brightness.

Runco International has just introduced the new the Video Xtreme VX-2c Projection System. This high definition imaging technology is the first to deliver a native 16:9, 3-chip entertainment experience to a variety of home theater environments. The VX-2c comes packaged with the Next Generation ViVix II DHD Digital Controller and is now shipping world wide.

Texas Instruments (TI) announced a new DLP SXGA+ chip, providing customers 1400 x 1050 resolution, the highest single-chip resolution available for the projector market today. Offering high brightness and contrast ratios, DLP SXGA+ technology is optimized for the growing high-resolution requirements of business, medical and military markets, as well as fixed installations and large conference room settings. TI says the inherent advantage of the single-chip DLP architecture assures no misalignment over time, ensuring consistent, sharp images.
