Optoma Launches a Pair of 3D Projectors
Optoma's new projectors are aimed directly at the custom install crowd.  The HD8300 and HD3300 are projectors at two fairly distant price points, but they have quite a bit in common. Both utilize HDMI 1.4 and are compatible with the gamut of mandatory 3D formats and you can even set other modes manually in case you need them.  Both offer an RS-232 port, +12V triggers and a VESA 3D port.  The new projectors use the company's RF technology and glasses instead of infrared.

Runco Announces the LS-1 DLP Projector
Runco is known for their high-quality projectors - a factor that tends to reflect in the cost.  The LS-1 is a bit different though.  That's not to say it's not a quality projector, but at $3,995 it's affordable to those that normally wouldn't be able to swing a Runco. The newest in the LightStyle series, the LS-1 offers a contrast ratio of 10,000:1 and uses technologies like SuperOnyx, Constant Contrast and ViVix digital video processing to achieve deep black levels.  It utilizes the ISF calibration suite which allows the projector to be customized for the room.

DPI Announces a Slew of New Projectors
Digital Projection International (DPI) does one thing and they do it well - they make projectors.  Specifically, they make high quality projectors for those willing to spend to get the kind of picture quality they want. The new HIGHlite Cine 330 and Cine 660 projectors start the lineup and offer many of the same features.  Both are 3-chip DLP projectors that aim for a compact and cost-effective way to get impressive video quality.  The M-Vision WUXGA LED DLP is the latest in DPI's LED product line, and offers a 1920 x 1200 resolution and over 60,000 hours of LED "lamp" life.  Like the Cine 330 and 660, the M-Vision offers a great deal of flexibility thanks to its small size and significant lens shift.

BenQ Announces a Pair of 1080p DLP Projectors
The folks at BenQ debuted a pair of projectors, announcing them as "the ultimate in big screen entertainment."  That may be a big of an overstatement, but the W1100 and W1200 are pretty slick projectors regardless.  The W1100 offers a twelve-lens optical system for sharp pictures, a brightness of 2,000 ANSI lumens, a 4,500:1 contrast ratio and a 10-bit color processor.  It offers a color management system that lets you adjust hue, contrast, color temperature and gamma.

Runco Expands LightStyle Series With a High-Bright Projector
Runco is a name well respected in the projector field, but they're not exactly the most diverse company.  They make high-end projectors for dedicated home theaters and tend not to bother with anything else - until now.
