Octava Inc. has released their new HDMI Audio Converter. It features one HDMI input, one HDMI output, L/R stereo audio output and optical Toslink output. It fully supports resolutions up to and including 1080p.

Neothings is showcasing the LightSpider, a home audio, video and control system that relies on only a single optical wire, this week at EHX Spring 2009. Most HDMI extenders on the market require Cat 5 cables, signal amplifiers and other obtrusive additions in order to transmit signals. The LightSpider will be able to reach distances of 300 feet with only a single wire.
