Simple.TV has announced an update to its iOS and Android apps for its streaming DVR box. The revised apps now allow users to stream live and recorded over-the-air broadcast content to a Google Chromecast.

Rumors indicate that the online retailer is gearing up to release its own streaming media player. According to a report by Recode.net, Amazon is preparing a set-top box aimed at competing with similar offerings from other companies, like the Roku 3 and Apple TV.
The suit that has been going on between TiVo and Dish Network has finally been settled, to the tune of a half billion dollars. TiVo has agreed to settle out of court, and will be receiving $300 million from Dish, along with another $200 million to be paid over the next five years. It's a big blow for Dish, but it does mean they won't have to replace any of their existing DVRs.
If you subscribe to TiVo's email updates, your email address and name may have been compromised. The folks over at TiVo use a third-party email service called Epsilon to handle the mass emails they send out to those on their various email lists, and that service just got hacked.
What started out as an interesting take on a handheld system is quickly becoming an incredibly appealing device for fans of 3D. There were a few big announcements to come out of Nintendo at the Game Developers Conference this week, but one of the biggest was the addition of Netflix. This will make the 3DS the first handheld game system to offer the streaming service as an option.
