The TiVo Premiere launched unimpressively, but it looks like TiVo might be back on top thanks to the inclusion of Hulu Plus – something not offered by any other set-top box at this time.
If you're a music fan, or you just like a bit of background sound while you're working, you've probably played around with the Pandora streaming service. As of this week, you can get that same service on your TiVo Premiere absolutely free.
When the TiVo Premiere debuted, it was plagued with performance and stability issues. It didn't live up to expectations, and the folks at TiVo were very aware of the issue. Not too long after they released the unit itself, they released a firmware update to fix the problems.
Isn't technology wonderful? If you've got a Slingbox SOLO, PRO or PRO-HD and an Android phone, you'll be able to watch shows directly from your TV almost anywhere you are. You'll need 3G, 4G or WiFi connectivity, but as long as you've got it, you're good to go.
The Vu Plus isn't the first phone capable of displaying content from Flo TV, but it's one of the first to call it a primary function. The Vu Plus is built around consumption of mobile television.
