ReplayTV, maker of the first personal digital TV recording device, has announced that it will be creating its own studio to generate content for current ReplayTV clients. Chief Executive Officer Kim LeMasters announced the formation of ReplayTV Studios, a new division that produces, broadcasts and delivers original programming exclusively for ReplayTV digital video recorders.
In an effort to make Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) a mainstream AV product, ReplayTV has partnered with a few of the big hitters in the venture capital business to fund a project code named Disco.
The money is coming from players like Motorola, Charter Communications, and Paul Allen's (Microsoft) Vulcan Ventures Inc.
