There’s a film coming out this weekend that you may have heard about.  It is, we are told “the future of film as we know it.”  Whether you think it will be good or not (my money’s on not) the amount of money coming in from the three dimensional digital extravaganza will be astronomical.

Lord of the Rings Comes to Blu-ray in April 2010
I picked a Blu-ray player up for my father as an early Christmas present this year.  I asked him what movies he was looking forward to seeing in high definition.  “Star Wars” he said, “or The Lord of the Rings.”  He was disappointed when I broke the news that the geek trilogies that just beg for the HD treatment weren’t yet coming to Blu-ray.  Isn’t it just like Warner Home video to make a liar out of me?

Blu-ray Releases For December 15th, 2009
The second week of December is a pretty good one for Blu-ray releases.  Inglourious Basterds may be a spell checker’s worst nightmare, but it marks another strong showing for Quentin Tarantino.  Brad Pitt excels as the foul mouthed Aldo Raine and a few comedy players make strong dramatic showings.  Read on to see more Blu-ray titles coming out this week:
