It's no secret that 3D content is lacking, but Sony's got an interesting way to solve the problem. They're giving aspiring filmmakers a chance to have their work appear on a promotional Blu-ray that will be distributed with all of Sony's 3D televisions.
There are a few great movies coming to Blu-ray this week, but what's surprising is the glut of awful movies hitting the format. Warner launched the DVD2Blu program a few months back, and while it seemed like a great idea, the pricing just wasn't there. Under the original rules, you could exchange your DVDs for Blu-rays at the cost of $7.95 per disc, with a $4.95 shipping fee per order.
