If you've been waiting for some content to watch on that 3D TV of yours, yearning for a chance to use your active shutter glasses, and anticipating the excitement of finally reaping the benefit of your 3D setup then you'll be glad to know the wait is over. The first commercially available 3D Blu-ray disc (that isn't part of a glasses bundle) hits shelves this week.
There's plenty of Blu-ray coming out this week including a great post-apocalyptic movie from the Hughes Brothers, a hilarious flick starring Michael Cera, and a 'Unthinkable,' which didn't get a theatrical release, but has earned high praises.
Redbox is great if you're a DVD fan. You can get any movie they've got for a buck a night, and even though the selection trends towards newer flicks, there's still a decent selection. Blu-ray lovers have been left in the cold so far, but Redbox CEO Mitch Lowe says HD lovers will be getting their fix in the next few months.
Not a bad week for Blu-ray. There's plenty in the way of catalog pictures – 'Bad Boys,' 'Kelly's Heroes,' and 'The Man With No Name Trilogy' stand out especially. Best of all, three new releases are available to dazzle your senses and show off your slick setup.
