NAD Announces New Flagship Blu-ray player
With a look different than most BD players on the market, NAD’s newest player – dubbed the Master Series  M56 Blu-ray Player – is encased in a steel chassis and die-cast aluminum front panels.  The noise isolating design is supported by a quartet of aluminum feet with silicon rubber inserts.

Goldmund Announces Universal Player - Eidos Reference Blue
A move into Blu-ray player production from Goldmund has been anticipated for some time now, and with the announcement of the Goldmund Eidos Reference Blue, they’ve finally entered the market.  A very limited run of these players will be available – fifty, to be exact, sold on a subscription basis.

Sony Leaves Out Major Detail in PS3 Slim Announcement
Sony recently announced the upcoming release of the PS3 Slim and the discontinuation of the current PS3 models.  While the company detailed everything from the chips to the orientation of the hardware, they neglected one major fact for home theater consumers.  The PS3 Slim will have the ability to pass Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio in their native bitstream encoding to A/V receivers.

Sony Announces New PS3 Model and Price Drop
At a conference in Cologne, Germany, Sony has announced some big news for the PS3 lineup.  Effective immediately all current models of the PS3 will get a price reduction.  The current 80GB PS3 will be lowered to $299, while the 160GB model will be lowered to $399.  In addition, the current model will be discontinued to make way for the new PS3 model.

Amazon VOD Added to Panasonic BD Players
Panasonic announced the inclusion of Amazon's Video on Demand service via their new Viera Cast-enabled Blu-ray players.  Panasonic owners will get a software update today loaded via the network connection on their Blu-ray players, similar to the inclusion of Amazon's VOD service on Viera-Cast televisions.
