Yamaha Announces the BD-S667 Blu-ray Player
The S667 is somewhere between entry-level and mid-level when it comes to pricing.  At $329 it's more than the average Joe is willing to shell out, but priced under the BDP-83.  And the player reflects that.  It's not bad, but it doesn't do anything out of the ordinary.

Sony's 3D Firmware Update is Available Now

Toshiba's Dynabook is the First 3D Blu-ray Capable Laptop

Kaleidescape Releases M300 and M500 Blu-ray Players
The idea of using the Kaleidescape system for Blu-rays is appealing, but the practical application just doesn't seem to be there. The M300 and M500 players are designed specifically to work with the Kaleidescape server for playback.  When connected to the server, they can play backed-up Blu-rays at full 1080p resolution, 24 frames per second, and with bitstream pass-through of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.
