Onkyo Introduces the THX Certified BD-SP808 Blu-ray Player
The BD-SP808 is the final piece of Onkyo's new group of THX certified separates.  Just like the preamp/processor and power amplifier, it's built with video and audio quality in mind. Onkyo's BD-SP808 is slick looking, with a nicely understated design.  It features a center mounted drive and a rigid chassis that's designed to eliminate the harm that can come from vibrations.

Samsung's Firmware Update Makes Warner and Universal Movies Unplayable
If you've got a Samsung Blu-ray player from 2009 – a BD-Px600 – you may want to steer clear of the most recent piece of firmware.  Samsung owners from all over are complaining that the newest update to their players is making Universal and Warner disks unplayable.

Samsung Releases the First 3D Capable Portable Blu-ray Player
Before you get too excited, let's talk about that whole 3D thing.  The new BD-C8000 is a portable Blu-ray player that's 3D capable.  The screen of the BD-C8000 isn't. You'll need to attach it to a 3D television in order to get the experience.

Kaleidescape Details Their Blu-ray Vaults
Kaleidescape has introduced two new Blu-ray Vaults which will be available starting this winter.  The Modular Disc Vault is set for a release at the end of this year.  It's capable of holding 100 Blu-ray discs, which means you won't have to get up and switch discs.

Panasonic Adds a Slimmer Blu-ray Player To its Lineup
The DMP-BDT100, Panasonic's latest Blu-ray player, is a smaller and faster unit, designed for a release later this year. How much smaller?  According to Panasonic's unnecessarily precise press release the BDT100 is 1-17/32 inches smaller than the BDT350.  Apparently that last thirty-second of an inch is the clincher.
