Harmon/Kardon Introduces 2009 AVR Lineup
Harmon has done a refresh on its AVR line of receivers, with new feature sets to match.  All models, the AVR 1600, AVR 2600 and AVR 3600 feature support for HD audio formats, as well as EzSet/EQ, a program designed to allow simple setup for novice home theater enthusiasts.

Onkyo Debuts 9.2 Channel ‘Double 0’ Series
In just a few weeks, the newest line of Onkyo receivers, the TX ‘Double-0’ series, will be shipping.  Onkyo sought to add a diverse feature set to this A/V receiver line which includes, among other things, 9.2 channel processing.

NAD Announces Receiver Upgrades
NAD is pushing out new versions of their T 785, T 775 and T 765 AV Receivers and will be showcasing them at Cedia in early September.  The input circuitry has been placed on removeable plug-in cards.  These modules provide digital audio, HDMI, component video, two-channel / multi-channel analog audio functionality.

Onkyo Releases AV Receiver with Streaming Capabilities
The Onkyo TX-NR807 connects directly to the internet or a home network via a rear-panel Ethernet port. The receiver's on-screen user interface allows users direct access to Pandora, Rhapsody, Sirius Internet Radio, and vTuner streaming radio services, or to access MP3, WMA, FLAC, Lossless, Ogg Vorbis, and AAC files from any computer or storage device on the network.

Pioneer Elite Receivers Gets iPhone / Satellite Radio Functionality
The four new models in the Elite series A/V receivers from Pioneer have received upgrades.  They are all now certified Works with iPhone, and two models can connect to the Internet and play music-subscription services from Sirius and Rhapsody.  The four new models, all 7.1 channel, include the VSX-21 (SRP: $700), the VSX-23 (SRP: $900), which ship in July, and the SC-25 (SRP: $1,700) and the SC-27 (SRP: $2,000).
