NAD Launches a New Affordable Receiver
Gear comes at a wide range of prices, perhaps more with receivers than any other piece of home theater component.  You can pick up something bare-bones for as little as $200 or go for a top-of-the line receiver that costs into the multiple thousands of dollars. NAD has traditionally skewed towards the latter, offering high-end receivers to be purchased by those that favor quality over a low cost, but T 748 was designed to cater to both.  It's not a cheapo receiver that you'll find at Walmart, but at $900 it's the least expensive receiver available from the company.

NAD Releases a New 7.1 Channel Modular Receiver
Some companies like to doll up their receivers with features like internet radio capabilities, iPhone control and streaming functionality.  NAD goes the other route, offering only features to enhance the listening experience. The new T-757 boats a high-speed DSP for decoding high definition audio formats and can convert stereo source material into a surround sound experience using EARS surround mode.  It remembers custom settings for each of your sources and you can even name the inputs to match the source that's attached.

Marantz Launches Two New Flagship Receivers
The new SR5006 and SR6006 from Marantz have been designed to replace the SR7005 flagship from last year.  Both include Ethernet ports that allow you to stream internet radio stations, but more exciting for Apple device owners is the inclusion of AirPlay, which makes pulling audio from an iPhone, iPad or iPod simple.

Harman Kardon Unveils New 3D Capable Receivers
At the lower end of the new line are the AVR 1565 ($479) and AVR 1650 ($599) - receivers made for the budget conscious movie lover that doesn't want to give up all the bells and whistles.  They're both 5.1 channel receivers and both offer HDMI 1.4 connections.  The 1650 features 95 watts of power per channel instead of the 1565's 70 watts and also adds an FM stereo, an extra HDMI input and EzSet/EQ tech for simple and flexible setup.

Onkyo's NR1009 is the First Receiver With DTS Neo:X
The TH-NR1009 is the latest receiver to come from Onkyo, and it's a doosie.  Not only does it pack the things you'd expect from a high-end receiver, but it's also the first to offer DTS Neo:X, a technology that allows a maximum of flexibility in your speaker setup.  First of all, it upconverts 2.0, 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 channel audio to 9.1 or 11.1 channel audio.  That's not all though - you can choose to add extra surrounds in the back for ambience, in the back and front for an expanded soundstage, or even add front height and width speakers.
