PS Audio will introduce the Power Director, the latest in a growing family of innovative power delivery systems, at CEDIA EXPO 2001: The Custom Home Electronic Design and Installation Show in Indianapolis. The Power Director is a power management device designed to perform all the necessary switching and network command functions that are needed for a custom home audio/video system or rack-mount environment. Equipped with 12 outlets [six receptacles] and four dedicated 20-amp Ultimate circuits, the Power Director performs AC conditioning, surge and spike protection, non-current limiting, and communication and switching interfaces.

The Panamax MAX 5500 ACRegenerator (Model #M5500) is Panamax’s latest offering for the audiophile. Panamax has combined surge protection with AC line conditioning, power stabilization and AC regeneration to give audiophile a total suite of power solutions in one box. Priced at $999, the M5500 features AC processing including true isolation filtering, "a firewall for noise", combined with surge protection for phone and coax connections.

Perpetual Technologies, known for their cutting-edge digital audio products, introduced a new product designed to improve your AC power: the Digital Power Cell, or DPC. The DPC regenerates the electrical signal that you get from your wall and uses amplification to create a nearly perfect signal to feed your gear. The DPC, much like the very popular PS Audio Power Plant products, also offers multiwave technology. However, unlike PS Audio, the Perpetual can be rack-mounted. It uses a digital amplifier technology that reduces operational heat. In contrast, analog amplifier designs require significant cooling and heat synchs. The DPC is to be priced at $799 and will ship starting May, 2001. Perpetual Technologies has a new digital-to-analog converter and interpolator in their product line-up called the P5. Without question, the Richard Gray's Power Company AC Un-Conditioner is currently the most controversial product in high-end audio. Now Richard Gray launches his first home theater AC product, the $2,000 RGPC 1200, at CBS Studio Center in Studio City, California. The new Richard Gray Un-Conditioner will begin shipping September 1, 2000, and is customized for rack-mounting, complete with 12 Hubbell 20-amp receptacles. The first Richard Gray's Power Company units are physically more suited for audio systems based on their upright configuration and four receptacles.
